About the positionThe Department of Plant Sciences, Faculty of Biosciences at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) has a vacant 2-year researcher position related to the genetics of nitrogen uptake and protein content of barley.The work is connected to the project “Increased protein production from Norwegian barley for animal feed” (ProteinBar). More specifically, the researcher will work closely together with different research groups at NMBU and the plant breeding company Graminor to investigate the genetics of nitrogen uptake, protein content and grain yield of barley.  The aim is to develop genomics-based breeding tools to support the development of domestic feed barley varieties with higher protein content.
