Project descriptionWe are seeking a dedicated, creative and enthusiastic PhD student at our Department of Radiation Biology. The position is available for 3 years. The position will be associated with Heidi Lyng's research activity on clinical radiation biology. The selected candidate is expected to work on a project were MR images are used to study the effect of radiation therapy in prostate cancer patients. A goal is also to investigate if a selected group of prostate cancer patients can benefit from proton therapy, which will be available at Oslo University hosptial from 2025. The project is highly cross-disciplinary, with vital contributions from physics, biology and oncology. A postdoctoral position is available at the Department of Radiation Biology at the Institute for Cancer Research, OUS Radium Hospital. Planned start date is 1st June, or after agreement. The position is for 3 years, on the project “Exploiting mitotic stress as a druggable cancer-specific vulnerability“, funded by the Norwegian Cancer Society. The project builds on our recent identification of a novel regulator of mitosis (PMID: 37291955) and aims to target stressed mitoses to selectively target cancer cells. Oslo University Hospital is a workplace with great diversity.
