About the positionOne position as researcher (SKO 1108) in Experimental Particle Physics is available at the Department of Physics, University of Oslo.  The position is externally funded lasting throughout 2027. The vacancy will be filled as soon as possible.Project descriptionThe Large Hadron Collider at CERN, in operation since 2010, has been a key to the discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012. To achieve higher luminosities the collider and its experiments will be upgraded in the mid-2020s to deliver 3000/fb by 2037. Norway participates in the ATLAS experiment and is contributing to build 3D silicon pixel sensors for the Inner Tracker. Om stillingenREK sør-øst er sekretariat for de fire regionale forskningsetiske komiteene (REK) i helseregion sør-øst, og for nasjonale komiteer som vurderer og godkjenner forskningsprosjekter om klinisk utprøving av legemidler og medisinsk utstyr (REK-KULMU). Komiteene er forvaltningsorganer og skal godkjenne all medisinsk og helsefaglig forskning som involverer mennesker, bruk av helseopplysninger eller biologisk materiale iht. helseforskningsloven og internasjonale retningslinjer; REK KULMU etter europeiske forordninger.  REK sør-øst behandler i dag ca. 1000 nye forskningsprosjekter i året.
